A much-loved Glasgow coffee shop has been forced to close due to 'rising costs and added taxes'.

For Fika Sake in Partick announced it is to close for good next Sunday.

The Scottish-Scandi hang-out said it had no other choice but to close to avoid 'financial stress'.

Owner Simon wrote: "It is with a heavy heart that I am bringing this news to you all.

"For Fika Sake will be closing its doors for the last time at 5pm on the 25th of this month.

"Due to rising costs and added taxes we are unable to grow and continue on its direction of providing a safe and relaxing space without accumulating financial stress."

He added: "This has been a special 3 years and we have all of you to thank for it! FFS has become a hub for the community which is what we set out when we first started and we will forever be proud and thankful for.

"This is a sad occasion but also a joyous one, that FFS could become a great place for everyone involved for as long as it has.

"We hope you understand and that if you get the chance before the 25th please pop in to say hello and get your Fika on!"

Hundreds of customers expressed their sadness at losing another West End eatery.

Lucy Gunatillake wrote: "So sorry to hear this, I really love coming and was a place I came a lot as a new mum."

Suzannah HM posted: " I'm so sad to hear this! We're losing the heart of community and creativity in that part of the West End, but wish you all the best for the next adventure."

Bar Gumbo on Byres Road will be closing for good today.

Sunday will be the last day of trading for the bar that has been in operation for five years.
