As much of the country prepares for disruptions due to snow and ice, Glaswegians have been feeling the cold here in the city - and they're not happy. 

Temperatures plummeted to the lowest they have been this winter, with the village of Aboyne in the north of Scotland plunging to as low as -10.7C last night. 

Glasgow woke to a heavy frost and icy chill in the air and it has been enough to make some people conside booking a holiday straight out of here.

In regular Scottish fashion, freezing folk took to Twitter to complain about the woeful weather.

One Weegie said: "Honestly nae need for how cold it is!"

Another added: "It's too cold to be leaving the house my fingers are nipping."

While others like Stacey Thomson were dreaming of warmer climates. 

She said: "I need to be in the sun with a mojito right now. This cold makes me ULL."

According to the Met Office the city could still be facing some snow flurries in the coming days.

According to the Met Office today will see some sunshine in Glasgow with clouds forming tonight bringing patches of light rain, sleet or snow. 

Forecasters have also warned that heading into next week the threat of snow could return once again.
