An elderly woman was rushed to hospital after suffering a dislocated shoulder as she was robbed of her shopping bag in Dennistoun.

The incident took place around 3.35pm on Friday, January 25 when the 89 year-old woman was within a common close in Onslow Drive.

Two men approached her and pulled her bag away from her knocking her to the ground and causing her to dislocated her shoulder.

The woman was taken to the Glasgow Royal Infirmary where she received treatment.

The two suspects ran off and the hessian shopping bag with Celino’s written across it was recovered a short time later in Whitehill Street with several items stolen from inside.

The first suspect is white, with a gaunt appearance and a local accent. He is in his early 20s and around 5 ft 11 inches in height, with short black hair.

He was wearing a blue tracksuit top with an orange t-shirt underneath and blue tracksuit trousers.

The second suspect is white, with a gaunt appearance and local accent. He is also in his early 20s and around 5 ft. 7 inches in height with short black hair.

He was wearing a dark green or blue jacket and black jogging trousers.

Officers are carrying out door-to-door enquiries in the area and are reviewing CCTV footage.

Detective Constable Stephen McCabe said:“It’s imperative we locate these two men, whose shameful actions left an 89-year-old woman with a dislocated shoulder and in pain.

"I would urge anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident to consider if they saw these two men, did you see them loitering around the street?

Did you see them as they made off with the woman’s bag? If you think you know who these two men are or you have any information which could assist in our investigation, please do contact us.”
