The trailer for the latest installment in the Fast and Furious franchise has been released, with scenes shot in Glasgow making the final cut.

The three-minute long sequence teases the release of 'Hobbs and Shaw', and sees Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham team up to defeat Idris Elba.

Glasgow can be seen in the action-packed trailer as a backdrop as cars race through streets in the city centre.

Last year, several streets in the city were closed to make way for filming by Universal Studios.

A crew of 200 took over a number of locations, including George Square, Ingram Street and St Vincent Street in October.

Idris Elba was spotted lying in a pool of broken glass and throwing a bike helmet to the ground as part of the shoot.

Fans of the serious and curious onlookers gathered to watch the production team at work, and now they can see it on the big screen.

Hobbs and Shaw is set to be released in the UK on August 2.
