A POPULAR children's author has paid a visit to a Widnes school to inspire pupils to create their own stories.
Students and staff at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic College were delighted to welcome Ben Davis, the author of My Embarrassing Dad’s Gone Viral, Make Me Awesome, Danny Dread and the Joe Cowley series.
Students were eager to tell teachers how Ben's stories were unfolding and teachers commented on how thoughtful and engaged students were.
Children also enjoyed hearing Ben bring the characters from his book to life as he read and re-enacted various extracts for them.
The fun continued as Ben started a conversation in which students produced their own ideas for a story and characters.
Ben finished his visit by signing copies of his books for students to take away with them.
Head teacher, Danielle Scott, said: "It was wonderful to see how engaged our students were with reading over the two days and a real joy to see how much they enjoyed the author’s visit."
