ROCK legend Mick Jagger is reportedly set to undergo heart surgery in New York after a routine scan revealed the 75-year-old singer has a leaky valve.

US website, the Drudge Report, said the Rolling Stones frontman will undergo an operation to replace the leaking valve this week.

It comes after the band shocked fans by axing their 17-date tour out of the blue at the weekend.

Thousands of patients undergo heart valve replacement procedures in the UK every year.

The heart has four chambers, which each have a valve controlling the flow of blood in the correct direction.

With age they can become faulty, failing to open or close properly and leading to leakage.

Symptoms of weak heart valves include dizziness, breathlessness and fatigue.
