A talented boxer, actor and reformed football hooligan, Bradley Welsh lead a full life from a very young age.

Jail sentence and boxing career

Born in Moredun, Edinburgh, Mr Welsh landed himself in prison in his teens and began to serve a four year sentence.

After spending 18 months behind bars, he trained hard and became lightweight champion in the Amateur Boxing Association of England on his release.

He achieved the title at just 17 years old - the youngest age eligible to register.

But as quickly as his professional boxing career began, his hopes to win 'the fight of his life' were left in tatters when he was jailed for four months for assaulting a woman in 1997.

From his second spell in prison, Bradley began to turn his life around.

He picked up his boxing gloves from where he had left them and opened his own gym, where he launched charity projects for young adults to help them stay fit and out of trouble.

His work at Holyrood Gym, running boxing/fitness classes for children, women, adults, the unemployed and the homeless, was what got him noticed by Trainspotting author Irvine Welsh.

Life on TV - Transpotting and Danny Dyer

He was featured on the Bravo docuseries, “Danny Dyer’s Deadliest Men” in 2009. The series focused on some of the most dangerous men in Britain, and Bradley made his debut on the sixth episode of the second season.

He described himself as a "born leader" on the show.
