GLASGOW is set to be as hot as Tenerife this week with temperatures reaching up to 23C.

Sun-worshippers should make the most of the sizzling weather for the next three days as temperatures are set to climb day by day.

The Met Office predicted a high of up to 23C on Wednesday and 22C on Tuesday, which will be just as warm as it is in Tenerife.

Forecaster Craig Snell said: "Over the next three days temperatures are going to be pretty similar.

"For Glasgow and the majority of Scotland it's going to be largely dry with some spells of sunshine.

"The sunshine will be a bit hazy at times, especially towards some of the Isles and the fringes of Scotland.

"But for mainland it's going to be dry and sunny for the next few days.

"Temperatures are climbing day on day - tomorrow we are likely to see temperatures reach around 20C.

"On Tuesday it will be a degree or two higher than that and on Wednesday possibly 23C."

However those planning to sunbathe are warned to wrap up in the evening as temperatures could plummet later in the day.

Craig continued: "Nights will still be on the chilly side but days will be feeling really warm for this time of year.

"We're getting to the longest day of the year next month so the sun is quite strong.

"Beyond then it does look like it will turn a bit cloudier and cooler on Thursday and Friday."

The 'Taps Aff' weather comes after a sunny spell in the city over the weekend.

Day one of Scotland's only graffiti and street art festival took place on Saturday at SWG3, in Glasgow's West End, with punters making the most of the dry weather.

The event welcomed more than 2000 people to the venue, who came to witness the incredible art unfold, eat, drink and bask in the sunshine.

A spokesman for SWG3, said: "We had more than 2000 people come through the doors and some really spectacular art on show."

He added: "The sun is shining."
