Scottish Labour has become embroiled in a row with complaints being lodged against two of the party’s senior figures, reports said on Tuesday night.
According to BBC Scotland, Ian Murray, MP for Edinburgh South, has accused Lothians MSP Neil Findlay of “bullying and harassment”.
It was reported that a separate complaint had also been made against Mr Murray.
The development comes after a series of WhatsApp messages were leaked to The Herald in which Mr Murray claimed the party in Scotland was “full of thugs and incompetents”.
It followed an announcement from his political ally, Kezia Dugdale, that she was quitting Holyrood.
Mr Findlay wrote to party members after the leak saying: “I am appalled that loyal and committed members and staff have been described in derogatory terms.”
But now Mr Murray has reportedly complained to the party’s general secretary in Scotland, describing the email to party members as a direct attack on him, and asking for an investigation.
It has also emerged a complaint has been made to the party about Mr Murray and remarks describing some in the party as “thugs”. Scottish Labour said it did not comment on complaints.
