The funeral of Trainspotting star Bradley Welsh is to take place on Friday June 7, over a month since he was shot dead in Edinburgh.

The former boxer was killed on April 17 as he was walking downstairs to his flat.

His family have now called on well-wishers and those who knew Bradley to attend his funeral in two weeks time.

The service will take place at Mortonhall Crematorium in Edinburgh and starts at 2pm.

A message from Holyrood Boxing Gym said: "With a heavy heart I write this... We will all have our chance to say goodbye to Bradley John Welsh, son of Edinburgh on Friday 7th of June, 2pm at Mortonhall.

"The family wish for anyone who knew Bradley to please come along, to pay their respects and say their goodbyes."

Tributes flooded in underneath the post, with many sharing memories of the star from his time in the boxing gym.

The details of the funeral come after a 29-year-old man was arrested and charged with his murder earlier this month.

Mr Welsh was most famous for his role as Mr Doyle in the 2017 film T2 Trainspotting, and his boxing career that saw the Edinburgh-born star help young adults stay fit and out of trouble.
