Parts of Scotland will be hit by torrential rain this week with flood warnings and travel disruption predicted.
The stormy weather will sweep up from England into southern Scotland, with the east experiencing the worst conditions.

The Met Office upgraded their warning from yellow "be aware" to amber "be prepared". The alert will be in force from tomorrow morning until 3pm on Thursday, covering Edinburgh, Lothian and Borders and East Lothian.

The forecaster warned there was a small chance homes and businesses could be flooded and the weather could lead to difficult driving conditions and road closures.
Met Office meteorologist Alex Burkill urged people “to be aware that we’re in for some treacherous weather”.

Residents are being told to avoid low-lying footpaths near local watercourses and plan driving routes to avoid low-lying roads near rivers which may be flooded.
Despite the downpours, temperatures will remain relatively mild, with a high of 12C on Wednesday and 10C on Thursday. Large parts of Scotland, including the east, will see drier conditions as we move into the weekend.
