The Herald and GenAnalytics, are delighted to announce Scotland’s Diversity Awards - now in its fourth year. The event is supported by BAE Systems, City Building, City of Glasgow College, CIPD, Diageo, Deloitte, J.P. Morgan, Taylor Wimpey, MacRoberts, ScottishPower and SQA.

Over the last four years we have seen these awards growing in scale and each year we continue to be encouraged by the passion, commitment and drive from individuals and organisations from all over Scotland and from every industry sector to make our workplaces and our society more diverse and inclusive.

We had another record number of entries in 2018 and a record number of guests joining for the Awards event in October and we are looking to build on this in 2019.

Our award categories encourage applications from the public, private and third sector. We know that for many organisations this is an early stage journey and we welcome applications from those organisations too who are starting out but can demonstrate progress and a real commitment to deliver change.

Jen Blee, BAE System’s Sponsor and Procurement Director, said: “We are proud to continue to sponsor the Diversity awards 2019.

“We are committed to attracting and retaining the best and brightest people, and continually seek to create an inclusive, dynamic and rewarding workplace where our colleagues are inspired to make a difference where it really counts.”

Deloitte Partner Stacey Winters said: “The awards celebrate and recognise the success of not only organisations, but groups and individuals who have demonstrated incredible commitment towards making Scotland more inclusive. At Deloitte we have worked hard to build a culture of constant opportunity and growth, to provide an environment where all our people can thrive.”

Audrey Ross, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey West Scotland, said: “Continuing our involvement  helps us to play our role in developing how we embrace diversity and inclusion within the wider business community in Scotland.  We operate in diverse communities and embracing this diversity will enable us to succeed through a workforce that is inclusive, creative and innovative.”

A ScottishPower spokesman said: “We value every individual’s differences and the insights they bring to how we think, what we believe and who we are. We’re delighted to be supporting the Diversity Awards once again.”

Steve Borley, Head of Strategic Planning & Governance at SQA, said: “We’re looking forward to recognising the contribution of social enterprises to the diversity agenda, and highlighting the benefits that can be realised when everyone in our society has the opportunity to fulfil their ambitions.”

Lee Ann Panglea, Head of Scotland and Northern Ireland, CIPD commented, “The CIPD is delighted to sponsor the Herald/Gen Analytics Diversity Awards for a second year. These are important awards recognising Scottish employers who understand the moral and business case of diversity, and how we all stand to benefit when we embrace and value the diversity of thoughts, ideas and ways of working that people from different backgrounds, experiences and identities bring to an organisation."

Dr. Graham Paterson, City Building, Executive Director said: “At City Building we know that improving diversity is key to achieving equality and fairness within the workplace and we are keen for organisations to let us know loudly how they are doing the same in their communities.”

Roy Gardner, Vice Principal, Corporate Development & Innovation, City of Glasgow College, said: "As champions of equality, diversity and inclusion, our college is proud to support the Herald's Diversity Awards which continue to inspire thanks to the high standard of entries submitted. We look forward to seeing another strong range of entries this year."
