Police have confirmed that a bomb squad disposed of a device at a property in the Western Isles.
Police Scotland confirmed an Explosive Ordnance Disposal team attended a property at Breasclete on Lewis in relation to an unidentified device found on Monday, July 1.
The device was examined by EOD and subsequently safely disposed of during the evening of Tuesday, July 2
A small number of people from neighbouring properties were requested to vacate as a precaution and have since been allowed to return to their homes.

Chief Inspector Ian Graham said: "These measures were put in place as a precaution and I would like to thank everyone affected for their patience and understanding.
"I am also grateful for the specialist support of the EOD and would reassure the wider community that there was no risk to the public during this enquiry.

A man, 29, was arrested on Tuesday, June 25 in relation to this enquiry and subsequently appeared at Stornoway Sheriff Court.
