Women's World Cup legend Hope Solo has revealed her admiration for Partick Thistle.

The retired USA goalkeeper took to social media to show off the new inclusive away kit.

We told previously how Thistle were praised by thousands online for their LGBT+ friendly shirt ahead of the new season.

And legendary women's stopper Solo lavished more compliments on the jersey choice.

Taking to Instagram, Solo, 37, quoted the Thistle club creed, saying: "Partick Thistle is one Club open to all, we will not accept discrimination in any form and I sincerely hope that this shows that.

"Football can be such a wonderful universal language that can help bridge all sorts of divides, both large and small. As a Club, if we can use this sport that we all love to make all of our supporters feel welcome, even if that is through something as simple as a band of colour on a shirt, then it’s a simple decision."

She also described it simply as "fire", with the use of an emoji.

Her post racked up more than 15,000 likes on Instagram with plenty of fans and Scots adding their own messages of respect.

Hope watched her beloved USA win the World Cup with a 2-0 victory over the Netherlands in the final.
