POLICE Scotland has released the final arrest figures for TRNSMT.

The force said 44 were made across the whole weekend of music at Glasgow Green.

On day one of the music festival, 13 arrests were made. Eight were made on Saturday with the last day on Sunday racking up the biggest number of arrests with 23.

We previously reported how, despite praise from police about the “good spirits” of music fans, this year’s annual event festival was still hit by crime.

A largely positive experience was blighted by the sexual assault of a woman on Friday night, while dangerous flares were smuggled into the Green.

Police said a proactive policing policy saw almost 50 people turned away from the festival gates on Friday and Saturday having been caught with drugs.

An official warning was issued after flares and smoke devices were taken into the event, with police promising to arrest anyone caught.

Superintendent Simon Jeacocke said: “Saturday at TRNSMT was extremely positive, with attendees in good spirits at the event.

“Eight people were arrested for minor offences and, because of positive police searches at the gates, plus on-site partnership working with event organisers, we detected and deterred 23 people from entering the site with drugs.”

George Ezra brought the third TRNSMT festival to a close on Sunday, telling the crowd he will "forever think of Glasgow when he thinks of sunshine".

The Shotgun singer headlined a sold-out day which also brought Scottish talent Lewis Capaldi and Emeli Sande to the main stage.

Around 50,000 people attended each day, with many staying to hear Ezra play other hits including Barcelona and Paradise on the final night before the festival finished with a fireworks display.

Snow Patrol and Jess Glynne were in the original line-up for Sunday, but were replaced by Scottish pair Capaldi and Sande after pulling out in the weeks before.

Capaldi said getting the call to replace the band was "honestly a f****** dream come true" and called it the "best f****** gig of my life".
