A section of the M9 has been closed following a three-vehicle road traffic accident.
The road is closed between junction 6-8 with congestion back to the M876 at Junction 1. The M9 is closed southbound with no diversion yet in place.
Police confirmed that the incident took place just before 7:10am, with three vehicles involved in the incident.
It is understood that a male driver suffered injuries as a result of the crash with an air ambulance called to the scene.

There remains no timescale for when the road will reopen and no diversion has of yet been set up.
Drivers are being urged to take alternative routes
