David Moyes is interested in making a Premier League return as Everton manager with current boss Marco Silva under increasing pressure.
The Toffees have had a bleak start to the season and currently sit third from bottom after only winning two of their opening eight matches.
Their inability to win a league game since the beginning of September even though the Portuguese boss spent heavily over summer after the club backed him with more than £100 million, has led to Silva to deal with the threat of the sack.
According to the Mirror, Moyes is open to making a shock return to Goodison Park if the opportunity arose and is now the bookies’ favourite to replace Silva.
The Scot spent 11 years at Everton, helping them to regularly finish in the top eight, and more recently finished at West Ham in 2018 after helping them avoid relegation.
He has since turned down offers of jobs in the Championship and League One in recent weeks to wait for the right opportunity.
The 56-year-old is the bookies’ favourite to replace Silva, as the odds from 7/4 to 5/6 with bookmaker Paddy Power.
Former Everton midfielder Mikel Arteta is also in the mix with odds of 8/1 and ex-Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez sits at 10/1.
Silva is set to remain in charge for Everton’s match against West Ham on October 19th after the international break.
