Police investigating the death of a man in a flat in Glasgow's Maryhill have made an arrest.

A block of flats on Carrbridge Drive in the Wyndford estate was cordoned off by police following the discovery of the body at around 7.55pm last night.

The man has been named locally as 45-year-old Steven Clark.

A 19-year-old man has since been arrested in connection with the death.

Police say enquiries are ongoing.

A resident earlier described how "there was loads of police late last night all rushing to the flats."

They told the Evening Times: “I’ve heard rumours over what has happened.

"It’s obviously something big if they have shut all that off.”

Another added: “The police have been at the flats since the back of midnight. 

“I live in the bottom floor and my door went. Two officers were just asking me questions and said an incident had taken place."

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "A 19-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the death of a man whose body was found within a flat on Carrbridge Drive in Maryhill, Glasgow on Monday.

"Enquiries are ongoing".
