Celtic are considering a January swoop for former Bayern Munich starlet Niklas Dorsch, according to a report.

Dorsch, 21, currently plies his trade in Germany with Bundesliga 2 outfit Heidenheim.

The midfielder was previously tipped for the top at Munich and scored in his only outing for the first team at the Allianz Arena in a 4-1 win over Eintracht Frankfurt.

Celtic manager Neil Lennon says Virgil Van Dijk is the benchmark that Christopher Jullien should be aiming for

He opted to move as he reportedly felt he wasn't being utilised and departed for Heidenheim in 2018.

Dorsch has since made 46 appearances and scored three times.

Hoops manager Neil Lennon is likely to want to strengthen his side for Europa League knockout action after recently securing a place in the last-32 with two matches still to be played in the group stage.

And The Telegraph report that Dorsch is seen as an ideal candidate by the Celtic boss to make a move for in the next window.
