Count Binface, as he is now called, will attempt to unseat the prime minister in his constituency of Uxbridge and South Ruislip after earning 249 votes against Mrs May in Maidenhead in 2017.

However, the Count - portrayed by comedian Jon Harvey - admitted he had “given himself a promotion,” after a copyright wrangle with the creator of a film from which he took his original title.

In a letter to press, the Count confirmed he would run on a ticket pledging to “bring back ceefax,” among a raft of other promises.

He also took aim at Johnson’s “oven-ready” Brexit deal, proclaiming it “shop-soiled, past its sell-by-date and contains more than a trace of male bovine faeces.”

Harvey revived the character which once stood against Margaret Thatcher in 1987 two years ago and adopted the name from the cult American sci-fi film ‘Hyperspace’.

But a legal challenge from the film’s creator meant he could no longer use the name, although a second Lord Buckethead will stand for the Monster Raving Loony Party.

He appeared on stage and dabbed next to Theresa May during the count, becoming a social media sensation.

His fame even led to an appearance on US television after he was flown to New York for a cameo on John Oliver’s ‘Last Week Tonight’.
