A community Christmas light switch on event was cancelled after it was unable to collect the necessary funding.
Light Up Linwood has been taking place in Linwood in Renfrewshire for the past six years and is completely run by volunteers.
This years' event was planned for December 7 but was unable to secure funding after unforeseen circumstances and the limited timescale.
It is the only Christmas event organised in the town.

Organisers said in a Facebook post: "We would like to thank everyone from oor wee toon for your continued support over the past 6 years and we assure you that we will definitely be back next year with a fabulous Christmas celebration!
"As you know the events over the past 6 years have been run successfully by volunteers from Linwood and a lot of hard work goes into organising the event."
Gutted members of the community took to social media to express their disappointment.
One person said: "Such a shame, the only Christmas event in our wee town.
"All the children, and adults too, have been practicing for weeks their dancing and choir songs. Surely something could be done to save this with still three weeks to go."
Another commenter added: "You all put so much hard work into brightening our wee village. Please don't be disheartened. There's always next year."

One Linwood local added: "Very disappointing as this is one of the few events that brings everyone in Linwood together. 😔"
Organisers added: "We know our fellow Linwoodonians will understand that the cancellation of this year’s event is completely outwith our control but if you have any questions please refer them to the Senior Committee Services Officer (Community Councils) at Renfrewshire Council."
