The Scottish Premier Football League has confirmed today's Betfred Cup Final will go ahead, despite fears it could be cancelled due to bad weather.

Rangers and Celtic are to face off at Hampden this afternoon for the first trophy of the season, but fans were concerned the clash could be called off after a night of rain in Glasgow.

The SPFL have now confirmed the pitch has not suffered any issues at the hands of Scotland's weather, and no inspection is required.

"No inspection required. Enjoy your day if you are coming along."

Thousands are expected to descend on Hampden Park this afternoon as the game kicks off at 3pm.

ScotRail has enforced an alcohol ban on its services between Glasgow and Mount Florida and Kings Park, and say there will be extra carriages to cope with demand.
