ANNAN ATHLETIC are desperately seeking guidance from the football authorities after conceding they are in a ‘position of financial difficulty’.
Officials from the League Two part-time outfit met with fans at Galabank yesterday morning to discuss the indefinite suspension of the SPFL due to the spread of the coronavirus.
The club have also offered the use of their stadium as a community hub amid health crisis.
A club statement read: “As a result of a well attended and very informative meeting, Annan Athletic FC are in the process of putting together a plan for going forward as a club.
“With the cancellation of first team football and training for all ages by the SPFL, we are in a position of financial difficulty and looking for guidance from the governing bodies as soon as possible.
“With the coronavirus situation development all the time, the Annan Athletic facility will be perfectly placed to support the community with food aid and the areas of support given the proper funding.
“The situation will be closely monitored and more information will follow in the comings days/weeks.
“Thank you for your continued support.”
