Dumbarton police station has temporarily closed after a member of staff showed symptoms of Covid-19. 

The station has been closed to allow a deep clean to take place as a precautionary measure. 

A post on the official Facebook page read: "Dumbarton Police Office is currently closed to the public. It is anticipated that this will be for a short time only.

"Anyone wishing to report any incidents to Police Scotland can still do so by calling 101 or 999 in an emergency.

"A further message will be circulated when we are able to reopen. We apologise for any inconvenience.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland confirmed the closure saying: "The station is temporarily closed to allow a deep clean to take place as a precaution following a staff member showing symptoms of the coronavirus.

"Anyone who needs to report any incidents to Police Scotland should do so via 101 or 999 in an emergency."
