REVIEWING the Sunday papers on The Andrew Marr Show was Pippa Crerar, political editor of the Daily Mirror. The Mirror/Sunday Mirror, together with the Guardian/Observer, were the papers that broke the Cummings stories.

Formerly at the Guardian and Evening Standard, where she covered Boris Johnson's stint as mayor, Crerar is listed among the alumni of The Glasgow Academy, alongside Jackson Carlaw, leader of the Scottish Conservatives, and BBC broadcaster John Beattie. During her appearance on Marr, keen-eyed observers would have noted prints of the Clydeside docks and the Winter Gardens in her study. "My reminder of home," she said.
