THE first steps to freedom have been embraced by punters all across Scotland today after lockdown rules were eased.
Families have been reunited and scores of locals have taken to the fairways for a round of golf in sizzling temperatures.
With more freedom to meet other households and a host of non-contact sports back on the table, people have wasted little time in making the most of the glorious weather.
Beaches have been packed and long queues have been spotted at garden centres across the country.

This included Cardwell Garden Centre, in Gourock, Inverclyde, where punters embraced the first chance to enjoy some greenery for months.
Meanwhile tennis courts in Greenock have also been packed with players enjoying the heatwave.
Glaswegians have also embraced the wonderful weather, taking to local golf courses and seeing loved ones for the first time in weeks.
In St Andrews, people headed to the beach to catch some of the record-breaking sunshine.
However, we are still only in phase one of our post-lockdown and First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has urged caution.
Ms Sturgeon said: "I'm not trying at all to cramp anyone's fun this weekend.
"I really do want everyone to enjoy these changes because all of you have more than earned it.

"But I am asking you to please do so responsibly.
"I'm appealing to your judgement and to your sense of solidarity to each other.
"Please stay within the rules."
