LEST it was feeling left out, Labour got its very own lockdown breach scandal at the weekend.

The Mail on Sunday found out that Labour MP Rosie Duffield had been seeing her partner during the strict “stay home” period of lockdown. Her partner, who was then living at a separate address, has since moved in.

Ms Duffield, the MP for Canterbury, immediately resigned as a Labour whip. Had she not done so, Shadow Chancellor Anneliese Dodds might have had a harder time when she appeared on Marr. Instead, Ms Dodds said: “It is absolutely right that Rosie Duffield has resigned her position on the front bench.” Not every scandal has to run and run.
