POLICE officers have stepped in to control queues at a city McDonald's restaurant.
Cops could be seen discussing traffic control measures with staff at the fast food restaurant in Robroyston after McDonald's fans queued up in their droves for the opening of the outlet at 11 am today.

The demand for the fast food favourite comes after McDonald's took the decision to close their restaurants at the start of lockdown.
The Robroyston branch of McDonald's was one of the first to open in the city today and is based in a retail park which is also home to several other stores.
Dozens of cars were lined up at the Monument Drive eatery which is also near a busy route to access the M80.
Police Scotland has been contacted for comment.

We reported earlier today that six city McDonald's were opening including Pollokshaws Road and Crow Road branches which were also queued out.
Maryhill, Springburn, Easterhouse and Finnieston also opened with more McDonald's restaurants expected to open tomorrow and Thursday in Glasgow.
The restaurants are opening with smaller teams and a limited menu.
