A man was assaulted in broad daylight in the city centre of Glasgow this afternoon.

Officers raced to the ongoing incident in Argyle Street around 2.35pm.

An eyewitness told the Glasgow Times he allegedly saw a group of boys "kicking a guys head in".

He added that he saw one of the men shout a racist slur as he run off from the scene.

The eyewitness, who wished to remain anonymous, said: "I saw two or three guys burst into the front door of the newsagent and they started battering a guy. He was on the ground and they were kicking his head in.

“They then ran off away from the newsagent and they guy was left hurt on the ground.

“One clearly shouted a racist slur as he ran off, I wouldn’t want to repeat it.”
