A POPULAR city centre pub is queued around the block for lunchtime drinks in its beer garden. 

Pictures taken outside Hootenanny on Howard Street show a queue stretching from the pub's outdoor seating area onto Dixon Street as thirsty punters wait for a lunchtime pint.

Pubs are allowed to open their beer gardens and outdoor seating areas from today in accordance with the Scottish government's relaxation of lockdown rules.

But First Minister Nicola Sturgeon said it will not be like before and should not feel like before if you visit a beer garden.

Ms Sturgeon said if you can’t follow the rules or put up with the changes then do not go.
