A GLASGOW school wear and PPE supplier is setting up pop-up shops across the city to help parents and carers access school uniform during Covid-19.

Aspire Academy based in Hillington Park has also donated more than £15,000 worth of products to charities, care homes and schools including St Bridgets Primary in Baillieston.

Donations include hand sanitizer, 2m distance floor signs and personal Covid kits for each teacher with masks and viricidal spray. Now the organisation has arranged pop-up shops to support parents and carers during this difficult time.

Gail McCarthy, business development manager, said: “We will be bringing the school shop to the parents and providing a safe environment during this difficult time.

“Our shop allows the parents/carers to access school wear in a safe manner with social distance measures put in place – allowing them to make only one journey to buy all the essentials.

“By taking the products to the school the parents feel more at ease rather than waiting in long queues within the city centre. Orders can also be done online and delivered within 14 days – with free exchanges on all items to help with the restrictions in place.

“We are also aware of the financial troubles some families face and have set up bundle saver deals to support families by looking at affordability but also providing good quality that can last throughout the year. We are aware of the clothing grant in place and have put together uniform packages to suit those who receive this.”

Pop-up shops will be available at St Bridgets on July 31, Cranill Primary on August 5 and Sunnyside Primary on August 6. A day for Hahill Park Primary is still to be confirmed.

Ms McCarthy added: “We believe in helping our community and protecting our schools, care homes and charitable partners.

“We have donated over 1000 litres of hand sanitizer, 150 covid-19 kits, which include masks, sanitizer, gloves and spray, 100 vinyl floor distance signs, 100 five litre tubs of alcohol wipes and 1000 disposable aprons.”
