A MISSING man "who is new to Paisley" hasn't been seen since Saturday.

Police are appealing for help in their bid to find Albanian national Iren Muca after he disappeared in the Renfrewshire town.

Iren, who is Albanian and speaks little English, was last seen in the town's Christie Street around 2.30 pm on Saturday.

He is described as white, with sallow skin, 5 ft 11 in height, of medium build, with short brown hair, brown eyes and when last seen was wearing dark jogging bottoms, a red jumper, dark coloured trainers and a black 'Aviator' style jacket with a cream fur trim around the collar, cuffs and waistband, and he had a grey hooded top underneath the jacket.

Sergeant Megan Bryson, of Paisley police station, said: "Iren is new to Paisley and doesn't know the area at all.  As far as we are aware, he has not been in touch with anyone locally since he was last seen.

"We believe he has a small amount of money with him and a mobile phone.

"Officers are currently checking CCTV in the area to trace him and are working with local transport providers as well as colleagues in BTP in an effort to trace him.

"Any who knows where Iren is or who has any information that will assist officers in finding him can call Paisley Police Office via 101. Please quote reference number 1030 of July 7 when calling.

"We'd also ask Iren to get in touch so we can make sure he is ok."
