A man reportedly harassed a woman with indecent comments on a train between Argyle Street and Cambuslang.

The woman boarded the train around 4.40pm on Friday, June 19 at Argyle Street station. 

It is reported that a man, believed to have boarded at Partick station, subjected the woman to inappropriate comments of a highly sexual nature. 

The woman felt "extremely uncomfortable" until the man alighted the train at Cambuslang station.

British Transport Police have now launched a witness appeal as they search for the man. 

The man is described as a white male of a slim build, aged between 30 and 40 with short brown hair.

At the time of the incident, he was reported to be wearing blue shorts and jacket and a black cap, carrying a black rucksack and riding a dark-coloured mountain bike.

A spokeswoman for the force added: "Officers are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident.

"Anyone who has any information is asked to contact BTP by texting 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40.

"In both cases, quote reference number 33 of 20/06/20. Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
