A 26-year-old man was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital yesterday evening after being brutually attacked by two thugs.
Emergency services raced to the scene on Church Street, Johnstone at around 9.15pm.
Officers have now said that the man will be left permanently scarred following the attack as they launch an urgent appeal to trace those responsible.
One of the men is described as being in his late teens, early 20’s, with dark hair and wearing a grey tracksuit.
The other male is described as wearing black tracksuit bottoms and a black t-shirt.
The force are urging anybody who was in the area at the time of the attack to come forward.
Detective Constable Liam Rodgers, of Paisley Mill Street said: “The victim has been left with an injury which will cause permanent scarring.
“I am appealing to anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident and who saw anything suspicious or saw a group of young men around that time to come forward.”
