A serial protester has been arrested after unveiling a banner reading 'England Get Out Of Scotland' at a Scots airport.

Sean Clerkin, 59, was arrested at 7.30am at his Barrhead home this morning, after the stunt at Edinburgh Airport on August 20.

He was charged with breaching the peace, displaying an offensive banner saying “ENGLAND GET OUT OF SCOTLAND', and breaking an Edinburgh Airport bylaw, displaying a banner without permission.

He was arrested and taken from his home in Barrhead, East Renfrewshire, to Helen Street Police Station in Glasgow to be interviewed, and was later charged.

The Action for Scotland activist has since been released and will deny the charges.

A spokesman for Police Scotland said: "A 59-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with an incident at Edinburgh Airport on Thursday, 20 August, 2020.

“A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
