What is the book about?

The A Snowfall of Silver is the second young adult (YA) novel focused on the same family is set in 1931 when 18-year-old Freya runs away from her home in Cornwall to find acting fame in London.

Who is it aimed at?

Readers start at around 12 or 13 as it fits well into the YA category.

What was your favourite part?

I often find when reading historical fiction that it can be outdated and heavy going, however, the style in which A Snowfall of Silver is written is just right for striking the perfect balance between a solid foundation of accuracy and sweet vintage charm.

What was your least favourite?

With books as endlessly fun and emotional as this it’s difficult to find criticism but the one thing I would mention is that although the characters are always exciting, at some points the plot is less gripping than at others.

Which character would you most like to meet?

I always found Freya to be a deeply intriguing main character, and saw parts of myself and people I know in her. Her ambition – running away from home in Cornwall to head to London – and dramatic flair only make her more interesting.

Why should someone buy this book?

I would recommend this because it’s the perfect novel for going into the colder months with a truly heartwarming story.
