CORONAVIRUS cases across the North Coast are continuing to rise - with Fairlie and the surrounding area seeing the biggest increase in recent weeks.
In the last week, 189 confirmed cases were recorded in North Ayrshire, a rate of just over 140 per 100,000 of the population.
This is a marked increase from the 84 cases recorded in the authority between September 27 and October 3.
In that period, no area in Largs and the surrounding towns and villages had more than five cases, however Fairlie has recorded six cases in the past week.
The village and surrounding rural area now has a rate of more than 100 cases per 100,000 of the population.
The rate of cases in Largs North has also increased from less than 100 to over 100, with between one and four cases recorded in the previous seven days.
The rate of cases in Largs South has remained the same, with between one and four cases and a rate of 50 to 74 per 100,000.
A big increase has been seen in West Kilbride and Seamill, with a case rate of between 75 and 99, compared to the start of October when the rate was between 15 and 29.
Largs Central and Cumbrae has seen between one and four cases with a rate of between 30 and 49, an increase on the rate of less than 15 two weeks ago.
Skelmorlie and the surrounding rural area has continued to see no cases.
