TWO men are to appear in court today in connection with a "disturbance" on a busy East End street. 

The pair are said to have been involved when police locked down Royston Road at around 6pm yesterday. 

The men, aged 27 and 42, were taken to the Royal Infirmary and Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatement to injuries, which are not life theatening.

As we told previously, police remained on the scene throughout the night with bus services redirected as a result of the incident. 

Both men have been arrested and charged in connection with the incident and are due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court today.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "Police were called around 6pm on Tuesday, 20 October, 2020 following the report of a disturbance on Royston Road, Glasgow.

"Officers attended and two men aged 27 and 42 were taken to the Glasgow Royal Infirmary and Queen Elizabeth University hospitals for treatment of their injuries which are not life threatening.

"Both men have been arrested and charged in connection with the incident and are due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court today."
