GREGGS have revealed that two outlet stores will be opening in Glasgow by the end of this year.

The Glasgow Times previously reported that an outlet will be opening in Nitshill, and Greggs have since announced a second location – Westmuir Street.

An opening date of October 28 has been set for the Nitshill store, meanwhile the Parkhead shop will be opening on December 28.

Greggs products are made fresh each day but stock that is not sold on the day is either donated to charity or sold at reduced prices in local outlet shops the following day at a reduced price.

The stock in outlets may also be surplus stock, slightly misshapen products or discontinued menu items.

Raymond Reynolds, property and business development director at Greggs, said: “Our outlet shops are another great way for Greggs to give back to local communities and reduce wastage.

“Everything sold in our outlet shops is still fresh and delicious and offers fantastic value for money.

“A percentage of the proceeds from outlet shops are donated to charities, so we’re looking forward to opening more of these shops in the coming months so that we can continue to support local communities during these uncertain times.”

The stores opening times will be Monday-Saturday: 7.30am-4.30pm and Sunday: 9am-3pm.
