What is the book about?

Exactly one year before where this story begins there had been a party where a guest died of mysterious circumstances. After all the time passed, the five other teenagers who survived and played a part that night, thought their individual secrets safe, until an invitation arrives that’s not exactly for a party. This event, planned exactly one year of the death brings them all together again to compete for $50,000 by letting the truth of that fateful night come to light once and for all. None of them are safe.

Who is it aimed at?

Some of the themes in this are darker due to its qualities in common with traditional pieces of the thriller genre so it may not be for those much younger but I would recommend from around 14 up.

What was your favourite part?

What I found myself to most enjoy about this book was the sense of excitement that it was able to create. The tension between all the characters and danger they’ll be in if they don’t reveal secrets they’ve been holding onto a long time. This overall made it a much faster paced read than it otherwise could have been and impressed me greatly.

What was your least favourite part?

One thing I had a little trouble with at some points over the story was that at times the writing style felt a little flat and staggered but this thought was lifted by the twists within the story.

Which character would you most like to meet?

From the perspectives shared in this book I think the one that remained of the most interest to me was Ruby Valentine bad I looked forward to the sections from her perspective.

Why should someone buy this book?

This book to me was the perfect combination of the intensity and deadly secrets of One Of Us Is Lying and classic murder mystery elements brought in from the Cluedo board game.
