FOUR men have been charged in connection with various alleged car thefts from all over the west of Scotland.

Today, officers from Renfrewshire and Inverclyde were assisted by colleagues from Greater Glasgow and Ayrshire division's as part of an ongoing investigation.

A 34-year-old man and three others, 37, 39, and 41 were arrested and charged in Barrhead, Irvine, Paisley and Johnstone.

They will appear before Paisley Sheriff Court on Monday, November 30.

Detective Inspector Robert Bowie, based at Paisley Police Office, said: “Our investigation is continuing into a number of car thefts and attempted car thefts that took place throughout the west of Scotland from December 2019 and June 2020.

“We are committed to tackling crimes that affect those living in our local communities, and we will use every resource available to ensure we trace the people responsible.
