A VIRTUAL tribute to Robert Burns will add a modern twist to a cancer charity’s traditional celebration in honour of Scotland’s Bard.
The Beatson’s Bard and his Belles event, streamed live from Crossbasket Castle in Blantyre on Friday, January 22, will be hosted by broadcaster Alison Walker.
Special guests on the night include comedian and actor Karen Dunbar and TV presenter Hazel Irvine.
Eric Davidson, who is recognised as one of Scotland’s after-dinner finest speakers, will be presenting his talk, entitled, Yes Sir, Burns Can Boogie.
As well as a packed programme of Burns poems, songs and tributes, the bill will include music from the Red Hot Chilli Pipers.
An online silent auction will provide viewers with the chance to win some fantastic Scottish-themed prizes.
Alison Walker said: “I love this event and I’m excited to host it once again - let’s come together for a special night to raise vital funds for patients and families affected by cancer.”
Tickets cost £30 per household and can be booked through the Beatson Cancer Charity website.
