SCOTLAND has recorded two further deaths of people who had tested positive for coronavirus, the latest government figures show.

This brings the total number of people who have died under this measure in Scotland to 7642. 

The data released today also says that 210 new cases of Covid-19 were identified in the past 24 hours.

This means that, of the 19,331 tests that reported results, 1.2% were positive.

In terms of the vaccination roll-out, 2,733,387 Scots have now had their first dose of the jag.

A total of 715,714 people have also had their second dose.

Across Scotland yesterday there were 109 people in hospital with recently confirmed Covid-19. Of these people, 18 were in intensive care.

The government figures say that seven of these people had been in intensive care for longer than 28 days.
