DETECTIVES probing the death of a Glasgow woman in Helensburgh are looking for a woman who helped at the scene.

Charmaine O'Donnell, 25, was found in the water off Helensburgh pier on Friday, April 23, after "getting into difficulty", police said at the time.

It has now emerged that a woman with an English accent and wearing a lanyard around her neck helped at the scene.

Cops are looking to speak with the woman who they think may hold vital information for their investigation.

A 28-year-old man has appeared in court over Charmaine's tragic death but a police probe is still ongoing.

Detective Constable Angela Tipping said: “We believe this woman may have important information that could help with our enquiries.

“If anyone knows her or the woman herself see this appeal, please call us on 101, quoting incident 2765 of Friday, April 23, 2021.”
