DEPARTING Celtic legend Scott Brown was given a sweet send-off by a Glasgow-based baker at the weekend.

The 35-year-old received a Hoops-themed cake from Cake Days a Week to mark the final game of 14-year-stay in the East End of the city.

Brown, who will join Aberdeen as a player/assistant next season, won ten league titles, five Scottish Cups, and six League Cups during his time at Parkhead and was given a host of tributes from across Scottish football on Saturday.

But none quite as tasty as Cake Days a Week's.

Posting on social media, the firm said: "I had the absolute pleasure of making this baby for Scott Brown’s family celebrating his Celtic career.

"Cannot thank Lisa [Brown's wife] enough for asking me to be part of such a special celebration.

"Good luck for the future."

As we previously reported Kieran Tierney, Brendan Rodgers, and Scott Sinclair were among those to pay tribute to Brown at the weekend.

Arsenal defender Tierney said it had been an “honour” to play with Brown and to call him “a friend for life”.

Current Leicester City boss Rodgers said the midfielder was “absolutely amazing” for him throughout his tenure in Glasgow.

Sinclair, who was part of Celtic’s Invincibles side of 2016/17, said it was a “pleasure” to make history with Brown.
