Well there is, perhaps, a first. I've just read Councillor Appich's column under "View from Labour" in The Argus on Tuesday and not got frustrated in a negative way whatsoever with how the content was delivered.
It has become quite tedious, seeing time and time again the political authors having an unintelligent, juvenile dig at different political colours or looking to marginalise and divide communities with creating a continual landscape of victims, in their View articles.
I look forward to getting to the bottom of a column without seeing council leader Phelim Mac Cafferty blaming something on the Tories, but won't be holding my breath.
From the beginning, Cllr Appich delivered balanced comment about the Israel /Palestine issue and a reminder an anti-Israel government sentiment should never be confused or interpreted as being anti-Jewish, interesting information about a local electric vehicle co-operative, some feelgood information about Uber employees now having more recognition and the collective representation of union membership.
Generally I felt an overall upbeat delivery of the content.
Keep it up, it's refreshing to hear from our local political leaders in an informative, considered and thoughtful manner.
