The Herald:

A LOT of self-pitying whining currently abounds. We’ve tourists crying into their half-packed suitcases that summer holidays are ruined due to new Covid travel restrictions. While it might be tempting to say ‘catch yourself on, it was stupid to think you could travel, so quit being so damn selfish’, perhaps the kinder response is a brief: “Sorry, but there’s a pandemic on.”

Again, the kindest response is: “Sorry, but there’s a pandemic on.” Clearly, there’s sympathy with struggling industries - but public health comes first.
