POLICE have appealed to the public for information after three people were left with "serious injuries" following a crash in Barrhead earlier today. 

Emergency services were called to the scene on Glasgow Road between Hurlet Road at Nitshill and Blackbyres Road, Barrhead at around 11.00am after a crash occurred between two cars and a pedestrian, with the road closed for most of the day. 

A 34-year-old man and 54-year-old man, who were driving the vehicles, and a 60-year-old female pedestrian have been described as sustaining "serious injuries" and have been transferred to hospital.

Sergeant David Bulloch, of Glasgow’s road policing unit, said: “This was a serious crash that resulted in three people being taken to hospital and we are working to establish the full circumstances of what happened.

“I would ask anyone who was travelling in the area at the time and may have dash-cam footage of a white Vauxhall that can help with our collision investigation to get in touch. I would also ask anyone in the area with private CCTV to contact us.

“Anyone with information is asked to call us on 101, quoting incident number 1176 of Monday, 14 June, 2021.”
