Thousands of of Instagram users have been left unable to login to the social network today.
Tracking website Downdetector recorded a sharp spike in users reporting that they were having problems using the image-sharing app's features.
The main issues being recorded are with refreshing the feed and sending messages.
An error message is appearing on people's app which says that there is an issue with the social media service.
It reads: "We're sorry, but something went wrong. Please try again."
The outage seems to have impacted users on both the iPhone and Android app.

Commenting on DownDetector, one user wrote: "This is literally the FIFTH time this week that instagram has been down for me, get your act together insta and stop crashing so much".
Another added: "My Instagram is not working fresh feeds not working".
