A PUBLIC meeting has been arranged to allow people to learn more about the proposals for the replacement of Peebles High School.

The event, which marks the return of face-to-face meetings, will take place at Burgh Hall on Tuesday, September 14 between 2pm and 9pm.

Council officers will showcase the designs for the new campus and take feedback from the public.

Two supplementary online public meetings have also been scheduled for Wednesday, September 15 to cater for those who are unable to attend the in-person gathering.

An afternoon session, held between 2pm and 4pm, and an evening session, between 6pm and 8pm, will follow the same format as the physical public event.

A range of COVID-19 measures, including adherence to social-distancing guidelines, the wearing of face coverings and the use of hand sanitiser will be in place on the night of the public meeting.

Members of the public can register their interest for both the meetings by emailing PHSconsultation@scotborders.gov.uk and specifying which session they will be attending.

Councillor Carol Hamilton, executive member for children and young people, said: “If you have any questions relating to the replacement of Peebles High School or simply want to find out more about the details and vision of the project, this face-to-face public meeting provides the perfect opportunity to speak directly to council officers involved in developing the project."
